This research revolves around two enlightened scholars: the famous prelate Francisco Antonio de Lorenzana and the prestigious Indian bureaucrat Ramón Posada. Throughout their impressive cultural legacies, currently preserved in several public institutions of Toledo, we can investigate their obligations and hobbies, as well as their dimension as the patrons of medical science and health institutions. The result is a suggestive kaleidoscope of projects and realities, scientific expeditions, epistolary correspondence and social networks that evoke a time and characters committed to improving the health of their compatriots. ; La presente investigación gira alrededor de dos eruditos ilustrados: el famoso prelado Francisco Antonio de Lorenzana y el prestigioso burócrata indiano Ramón Posada. A través de sus impresionantes legados culturales, conservados actualmente en varias instituciones públicas toledanas, podemos indagar en sus obligaciones y sus aficiones, así como su dimensión de mecenas de la ciencia médica y de las instituciones sanitarias. El resultado es un sugestivo caleidoscopio de proyectos y realidades, expediciones científicas, correspondencia epistolar y redes sociales que nos evocan un tiempo y unos personajes empeñados en mejorar la salud de sus compatriotas.
