In the design cost, dimension, ease of use, and the minimum number of components to be used have been considered. The designed and implemented Microcontroller Controlled Digital Signal Transmission System can easily be used to transmit any kind of physical signal from one point to another point without using cables. In the designed circuit infrared transmission technics have been used to transmit the digital signal. In the first chapter, different communication techniques have been introduced, specifically analog and digital communication systems have been considered. The literature about this work has been studied and the aim of the work has been determined. In the second chapter, several tecniques used to transmit signals have been discussed, the advantages and disadvantages of this techniques have been put forward. The transmission tecnique for this system has been determined. In the third chapter, the parts of the system have been introduced. The design methods and rules have been discussed. The components to be used have been determined by using this methods. In the fourth chapter, the hardware and software of the system have been introduced. The PIC16F877 microcontroller, which is the most important part of the system, has been presented in details. Programming the USART and the ADC modules of the microcontroller have been studied. The infrared components of the system, DAC system and their use have been presented.
