Context: premature birth represents 65000 births per year in 2016 in France or 7.5% of all births compared to 6.5% in 2010. This rate is constantly increasing in this raises public health concerns because premature newborns are at greater risks of complications and therefore require close and specialized care.Method: early care is coordinated by the hospital, the pediatricians, the perinatal health care network. The general practitioner also plays a role because he is led to care from the earliest stages for the pre-term newborns. Hence, this descriptive study was carried out by means of a questionnaire addressed to a sample of general practitioners from the Bouches du Rhône department. This study allowed the determination of the role of the general practitioner in this process, his experience and know how being utilized with the objective of harmonizing the care taking of the pre-term infant, through a follow up tool which is designed for him and by him. Results: 129 general practitioners answered this questionnaire and follow, or have followed, for 71% of them, pre-term newborn. A coordination of town-hospital should likewise be favored and a downstream network must also be further developed. ; Contexte : Les naissances prématurées ...
