- نبذة مختصرة :
The article of record as published may be found at http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/S0167-4730(00)00004-7 ; Several approximate combination formulas are currently in use for estimating the extreme values of linear combination of load effects. In this paper the focus is on one particular example of such a combination formula, viz. the so-called Turkstra's rule. Turkstra's rule was originally limited to the combination of statistically independent load effect components. It will be shown that this combination formula can be implemented in such a way that statistical dependence between the load effect components can be taken into account. This makes it possible to investigate the performance of this particular combination formula for both independent and dependent load effect components.
