Technological for early detection of neurodegenerative in a home environment The case of Alzheimer's Disease

International audience ; Our multidisciplinary project aims to address the challenge of early detection in neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Alzheimer's Disease (AD), through innovative technological solutions. Neurodegenerative diseases affect millions of people worldwide, often resulting in a complete loss of autonomy. Early diagnosis can substantially delay their progression Thus, the current project focuses on developing a home automation monitoring system with the goal of identifying early signs of AD and facilitating referral for diagnosis. Applying eco-design principles, we will integrate household resources into novel detection methods, creating personalized cognitive-behavioral profiles while prioritizing privacy and data security. The project involves multiple stages, including the design of sensor networks and experimental trials. The first experiment, scheduled for July 2024, aims to assess the system's ability to detect various behavioral patterns, laying the foundations for long-term evaluations of its effectiveness in detecting early symptoms of neurodegenerative diseases. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, we aim to address the complex challenge of early screening of neurodegenerative diseases by combining medical knowledge and technological innovation.
