      Velike količine otpada koje se svakodnevno generiraju u prehrambenim industrijama, restoranima, kućanstvima i drugim izvorima postale su najveći ekološki izazov današnjice. Pravila gospodarenja otpadom imaju ključnu ulogu u promicanju održivog razvoja postizanjem ekonomske učinkovitosti, društvenog napretka i ekološke odgovornosti. Učinkovite strategije upravljanja otpadom od hrane pružaju širok spektar dobrobiti od onih ekoloških pa sve do društvenih i zdravstvenih. Preusmjeravanjem viška hrane izravno onima kojima je potrebna, ova strategija promiče društvenu jednakost dok smanjuje nejednakosti među skupinama društva. Osim toga, održivi prehrambeni sustav može potaknuti lokalnu ekonomiju, stvarajući nova radna mjesta u poljoprivredi, preradi hrane i distribuciji. Cilj ovog rada je prikazati trenutno stanje gospodarenja otpadom od hrane i potencijalne ideje koje otpad od hrane mogu pretvoriti u vrijedne resurse te moguće inovacije i poticaje za pomoć trgovcima i potrošačima da smanje bacanje hrane i na taj način kao društvo prijeđu na kružno gospodarstvo. ; Large amounts of waste generated daily in food industries, restaurants, households and other sources of mail are the biggest environmental challenge today. Waste management rules play a key role in promoting sustainable development by achieving economic efficiency, social progress and environmental responsibility. Effective food waste management strategies provide a wide range of benefits from environmental to social and health benefits. By diverting surplus food directly to those in need, this strategy promotes social equality while reducing inequalities between groups in society. In addition, a sustainable food system can boost the local economy, creating new jobs in agriculture, food processing and distribution.
