Diagnostic communication and psychological support for people with HIV ; Comunicación de diagnóstico y acompañamiento psicológico a personas con VIH

This is a review article that aims to know the forms of communication of diagnosis and psychological support to people diagnosed with HIV. In this sense, what the person experiences before, during and after the diagnosis process is considered, as well as the assistance resources presented by health professionals when dealing with this situation. It was found that the communication of the HIV diagnosis is usually done directly and often without enough preparation by health personnel, which is why it is necessary to strengthen communication strategies. Likewise, in the review of care protocols, it was found that in the intervention algorithms proposed in care guides and routes, the mental health area is insuffi cient when not absent or disconnected from the process of communication, follow-up, and post-diagnosis approach. Based on the above, an algorithm is proposed that gives an interdisciplinary role to mental health, which is complementary to what is proposed by the intervention protocol suggested by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection. ; Este es un artículo de revisión que tiene como objetivo conocer las formas de comunicación de diagnóstico y acompañamiento psicológico a personas diagnosticadas con VIH. En ese sentido, se tiene en cuenta, aquello que vivencia la persona antes, durante y después del proceso de diagnóstico, al tiempo que, los recursos asistenciales que presentan los profesionales de la salud al momento de hacerle frente a esta situación. Se encontró que la comunicación del diagnóstico de VIH suele hacerse de forma directa y a menudo, sin la preparación suficiente por parte del personal de salud, motivo por el cual se hace necesario robustecer las estrategias de comunicación. Asimismo, en la revisión de los protocolos de asistencia se encontró que en los algoritmos de intervención planteados en guías y rutas asistenciales el área de salud mental resulta insuficientes cuando no ausentes o desconectados del proceso de comunicación, seguimiento y abordaje posterior al diagnóstico.
