      The teaching-learning of Botany in High School has usually been marked by negative results in proposed classroom activities. There are several hypotheses raised that evidence the deficiencyof this teaching. Among them are the traditional teaching, without practical classes and decontextualized methodologies. Thinking about this problem and also in the current Pandemic scenario, in which remote learning has become mandatory and students are increasingly connected, the present work aims to develop a didactic sequence for the construction of a blog, which will be used as a complementary tool in teaching Botany to 1st year high school students of the Senador Levindo Coelho State School in the city of Ubá - MG. This product included the participation of students in the construction of a virtual teaching garden, including photos and characteristics of the main species of each plant group. The didactic sequence and the blog were elaborated with the intention of approaching the students' daily lives in a contextualized and practical way, to obtain an improvement in the scientific knowledge about the classification of living beings with a focus on the classification of vegetables, thus making them protagonists in the construction of knowledge mediated by the teacher. As a methodological strategy to plan, compare and verify if the objectives were reached, diagnostic questionnaires were applied pre and post didactic sequence that contemplate Botany contents. The results obtained showed that the strategies adopted in the different stages of the didactic sequence acted as facilitators for the construction and consolidation of knowledge of the content addressed, resulting in a qualitative advance in the responses under the conceptual aspect and understanding of concepts linked to their daily lives, besides presenting themselves interested, pointing out curiosities and seeking information about the role of plants for life and the environment.
