نبذة مختصرة : Osteoporosis is permanently progressing skeletal disorder or a syndrome revealed at a time of the other diseases, characterized with impairment of the bones’ density, reduction of the bones’ strength and increase of fractures risk. Physical load is required for bone growth. Long period of rest results in reduction of the bone mass. Adynamia, insufficient physical activity comprise the risk factors of osteoporosis. It should be admitted that excessive physical loads can become the risk factor of osteoporosis as well. In the most of cases, in females, osteoporosis is indicated in post-menopause period and in the males – when they are aged. Gonadic insufficiency is a significant factor in both, males and females. Other factors, contributing to increase of bone mass loss rate in the patients with primary osteoporosis include: low content of calcium and vitamin D, administration of certain medicines and hyperthyroidism. Physical exercising is of significance as in the course of treatment, also for prevention. Regular exercises allow growing of the bone mass and reduction of the disease progression. At a time of osteoporosis, it is required to select set of such exercises that do not cause extensive load on the weakened skeleton but allow strengthening of the muscles. Remedial exercises should be oriented towards maintaining muscular tone and strengthening of the bone tissue, comprising basis for prevention and treatment of osteoporosis. ; The Conference is organized by the Faculty of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation of the Georgian State Teaching University of Physical Education and Sports.
