    • نبذة مختصرة :
The focus of this bibliography is pregnancy, childbirth and infant nurture. Although it includes works on mothering, later child care and development, and the phases of the reproductive life cycle, these are not focal. In addition, it includes a selection of works on puberty rites and male initiation. This bibliography is not exhaustive, but it contains most of the important contemporary titles - books, chapters in books, papers, journal articles and theses - focusing on these topics. It includes references to some practical manuals for mothers, doctors, midwives, as well as academic texts. I have drawn primarily on anthropological and sociological texts and have also included some historical, demographic, psychological, medical and legal works, yet have cited only a select number of references from the burgeoning literature on abortion, reproductive rights and new reproductive technologies. (First paragraph of Introduction).
