      Discontinuation of school activities due to the confinement by the COVID-19 pandemic forced educational activities at home. Parents acquired new challenges and roles in supporting their children. The purpose of this systematic review is to provide an overview of empirical studies on the actions, attitudes, and circumstances of parents in distance learning of primary school children during the COVID-19 pandemic worldwide between 2019-2021. An extensive search was conducted in six academic databases; from which 20 empirical studies were selected through inclusion and exclusion criteria. Six topics of concern were identified along with methodological recommendations consistent with the gaps expressed by the authors themselves. Among the most relevant results it was found that Peru is the country with the highest production. Studies have frequently been quantitative, the most present topics were Effects of implementation and use of technologies in education, and effects of confinement in families. We concluded the need for qualitative studies and the characterization of topics, methods, actions, attitudes, and problems as background for future research. ; La suspensión de actividades escolares al inicio del confinamiento provocado por la pandemia COVID-19 generó que, de un día para otro, los alumnos se quedaran sin asistir a las escuelas, y los padres adquirieron nuevos roles en la orientación de la educación escolar en casa. El objetivo de esta revisión sistemática es ofrecer un panorama de estudios empíricos sobre las acciones, actitudes y circunstancias de los padres de familia en el aprendizaje a distancia de estudiantes de nivel básico durante la pandemia por COVID-19 a nivel mundial entre los años 2019-2021.
