International audience ; The preventive excavation of the third section of the ZAC (commercial activity zone) du Champ Rouge at Gidy (Loiret) allowed to study a rural settlement from the Early Imperial period located 1 km west of the Orléans-Chartres direct route, a major axis structuring the local territory. The occupation time of this agro-pastoral settlement turned out to be relatively short (second half of the 1st century AD - beginning of the 2nd century). Three ditched enclosures are included in the fragments of a very patchy network of ditches converging towards the enclosures. The latter are situated within the two excavation areas, whereas the ditches continue outside them. Within the enclosures themselves, it is hard to specify the chronological links between the several archaeological structures, although the space appeared to be sectorized. Two buildings on poles with quadrangular plans were excavated; these were an attic and a dwelling building (?) housing a cellar. No floor levels have been preserved. Several storage pits were found on the site, which were probably used to store bedding or fodder for animals, according to the results of carpological and phytolith analyses. The analysis of pollen from the fills of a well provides some information about the ancient landscape, showing the presence of an anthropised environment and the proximity of a sparse forest.
