      Poljoprivredni otpad, kao što je primjerice kukuruzovina, je po svom kemijskom sastavu lignocelulozni materijal koji se u najvećoj mjeri sastoji od lignina, celuloze i hemiceluloze. Da bi se mogao upotrebljavati u proizvodnji biogoriva (bioetanola i bioplina) potrebno ga je prethodno obraditi s ciljem razgradnje složenih polimera do jednostavnijih spojeva. Jedna od ekološki prihvatljivih metoda obrade je biološka metoda. U ovom radu kukuruzovina je biološki obrađena u uvjetima fermentacije na čvrstim nosačima s gljivom bijelog truljenja Trametes versicolor s ciljem razgradnje lignina. Analiziran je sastav kukuruzovine (udio vlage, pepela, proteina, slobodnih masti, hlapivih tvari, neutralnih i kiselih detergent vlakana, lignina, celuloze, hemiceluloze i pH) prije, tijekom i nakon obrade. Nakon 30 dana obrade, postignuta je 43,37 % - tna konverzija lignina. ; Agro-waste, such as corn stover, is lignocellulose-type of material, mainly comprised of lignin, cellulose and hemicellulose. Prior the use in biofuel production (bioethanol and biogas) agro-waste should be pretreated with the aim of polymer degradation till its simple compounds. One of the ecologically friendly method is biological treatment. In this work, corn stover was biologically treated with white-rot fungus Trametes versicolor in solid-state cultivation with the aim of lignin degradation. Chemical composition of corn stover was analyzed (moisture, ash, protein, free fat, volatile substances, neutral and acid detergent fiber, lignin, cellulose, hemicellulose and pH) before, during and after the treatment. After 30 days of treatment, 43,37 % of lignin conversion was gained.
