This text aims to discuss the relation between educational inequalities and teaching practice, given the changes in the profile of UFMG students. As a theoretical framework, studies in the field of Sociology of Education were considered, especially the works of Pierre Bourdieu, and Didactics of Higher Education. The analysis was carried out using the databases provided by PROGRAD/UFMG and had as reference the years 2007, 2012, 2016 and 2019, which represent important milestones in the policies of access to higher education. In the article, we seek to highlight the changes in the profile of students, caused mostly by the implementation of affirmative action policies, which mainly affected the most selective courses, as well as their implications for the teaching practice. Given that access to the university has been expanded, it is still necessary to guarantee the permanence of students in this space. So, it is concluded that there is a need for the viability of pedagogical practices that are guided by diversity and social inclusion. ; Este texto tiene como objetivo discutir la relación entre las desigualdades educativas y la práctica docente, en vista de los cambios en el perfil de los estudiantes de la UFMG. Como referencia teórica, se consideraron los estudios en el campo de la Sociología de la Educación, especialmente los trabajos de Pierre Bourdieu y Didáctica de la Educación Superior. El análisis se realizó a partir de las bases de datos puestos a disposición por PROGRAD/UFMG y tuvo como referencia los años 2007, 2012, 2016 y 2019, que representan puntos importantes en las políticas de acceso a la educación superior. El artículo busca resaltar los cambios causados, en particular, por la implementación de políticas de acción afirmativa que ocurrieron en las carreras más selectivas de la universidad, así como las implicaciones para la práctica docente.
