O ensino da matemática sobre a percepção dos professores das escolas municipais de Foz do Iguaçu ; The teaching of mathematics in the perception of teachers of Foz do Iguaçu public schools

This work had as thematic an approach of mathematics teaching in elementary public schools of Foz do Iguaçu, identifying through its historical course where the social function of mathematics presented itself as a need for human evolution. Numbers and theories emerged, as well as the necessity to teach mathematics in schools. Based on this demand, it is the teachers‟ job to perform their role as educators and to make use of innovative resources to overcome challenges met in the subject. It was conducted a field research to investigate the importance of teaching mathematics at school, its social function, the occurrence of pedagogical practices regarding teaching, the use of resources, the challenges and hardship found in the teaching learning process, the relevance of teachers having a formal training in the field of the subject, the teachers‟ role and the main reasons why students should learn mathematics. This work uses as methodology a field research, which was conducted through a survey among public school teachers, gathering a total of 234 answers. The research results show a significant number of teachers that perceive the importance of teaching mathematics to the teaching­learning process, adopting pedagogical practices that are contextualized with the reality of students‟ lives. They use diverse resources to overcome the challenges and difficulties of the teaching learning process. The teachers agree to the importance of acquiring formal education in the field of mathematics and promote their pedagogical practices through ludic resources so as to ease the teaching and learning. ; Este trabalho teve como temática uma abordagem do ensino da matemática nas escolas de ensino básico de Foz do Iguaçu, em identificar em seu percurso histórico, onde a função social da matemática apresentou como necessidade do homem evoluir.
