In recent years the field of telemedicine has shown a growing interest, namely in the remote monitoring of patients, performing remote surgeries and even the creation of mobile emergency services. Within this last use case, the possibility of having communication between professionals within an ambulance and the hospital, as well as the transmission of video to be used in virtual and augmented reality in the hospital, creates opportunities to reduce the response time to emergencies in hospitals. The requirements in the emergency area are characterized by very low latencies, high reliability and availability, as these services can never be idle and even depending on the use case, high data rates may be required. Mobile networks have proved to be an attractive solution to support emergency services, due to their inherent mobility, which requires flexible and yet efficient communication. Through the 5G network, it is possible to comply with all the ideas and requirements mentioned. This dissertation proposes a solution that, through the integration of a 5G network platform of a telecommunications operator, and the services of the city infrastructure, it allows the users through an API to specify the necessary conditions depending on the user, and the path they aim to take, so that the necessary resources in the 5G network, through virtual slices, are allocated dynamically and in advance and that the levels of importance / subscriptions of each user are still respected. For example, just before an ambulance passes in a certain area, the network slice resources are allocated and follow the ambulance path, but in a predictive approach. In this work, two use cases are defined to classify each user, infotainment and emergency, where the last one has stricter requirements and higher priority. This integration is carried out within the CityCatalyst project, in cooperation with Altice Labs, which represents the service provider, and the infrastructure that was developed within the scope of the Aveiro Tech City Living Lab ...
