The article presents the systematized description of the prof. I. Kovalyk views about important questions of Ukrainian dialectology and linguistic geography. Professor I. Kovalyk, one of the first in Ukrainian linguistics, have analyzed synchronicity and diachronic in dialectology and have noted that the correlation between phenomena of static and dynamics in dialects is primarily based on systematicness of the dialects. I. Kovalyk's scientific intelligence is at a time that is characterized by a thesis about the levelling of the dialectal language and the universal influence of the literary language. Although I. Kovalyk realized that the influence of the literary norm, although inevitable, but depends on a number of intrarring and extralinguistic factors, I. Kovalyk also directly participated in dialectological expeditions in the process of working on the Atlas of the Ukrainian language. Working with dialectal texts gave professor I. Key words: diachronic, synchronic, dialects, literary language, depression of accentuated vowels. ; У статті проаналізовано погляди І. Ковалика на питання української діалектології та лінгвістичної географії, зокрема проблеми ...
