      Dissertação de Mestrado em Psicologia da Educação, Desenvolvimento e Aconselhamento apresentada à Faculdade de Psicologia e de Ciências da Educação ; This document includes the research project conducted at the Escola Técnico Profissional de Cantanhede, as part of the curricular internship undertaken by the graduate student at this institution. The primary focus of this study was on the students enrolled in this school.The main objective of the study was to understand the issues surrounding technical and vocational education in Portugal. Initially, it focused on the interests and motivations of students who choose this educational path over the regular one, and subsequently on the factors that may influence their academic trajectory and future professional careers.A quantitative research investigation was carried out at the Escola Técnico Profissional de Cantanhede, involving 133 students from the aforementioned institution. Among other factors, psychological variables (like self-esteem and social support) and sociodemographic variables (gender and education level) were analyzed to determine their potential influence on the students perceived career decision-making difficulties and vocational certainty, perceived by students, about their future. The results indicated that psychological factors are more significant predictors of student’s difficulties and vocational certainty than sociodemographic factors. Additionally, it was found that a higher perception of social support is associated with a more positive outlook on the future, reduced persistence of decision-making difficulties, and increased the student’s self-esteem. ; A conceção do presente documento inclui o projeto de investigação realizado na Escola Técnico Profissional de Cantanhede, no âmbito do estágio curricular realizado pela mestranda na instituição de ensino secundário, tendo como principal alvo de estudo os alunos matriculados na referida escola.O estudo desenvolvido teve como principal objetivo compreender a problemática do ensino técnico e ...
