Democracia racial, direitos cívicos e o discurso sobre as cotas

A presente dissertação, intitulada Democracia racial, direitos cívicos e o discurso sobre as cotas, tem como objetivo central analisar o debate em torno da implementação das cotas raciais universitárias no Brasil durante a primeira década dos anos 2000. Para tanto, pretende-se resgatar as teorias sociais que pensaram o Brasil a partir da formação etnogênica de seu povo. Tendo como ponto de partida a construção da ideia de democracia racial, levando-se em consideração o constructo teórico realizado na passagem do século XIX para o XX, procurar-se-á compreender a peculiaridade das relações inter-raciais brasileiras. Em seguida, tentaremos confrontar as diferentes teses em torno da temática das cotas raciais, desde as mais antigas, elaboradas no início do século XX, até os debates mais atuais. Partindo deste resgate teórico, pretende-se identificar as diferentes correntes de pensamentos que se confrontaram e influenciaram os autores em questão, objetivando uma melhor compreensão acerca da atualidade das relações inter-raciais no Brasil contemporâneo. ; This dissertation entitled Racial Democracy, civil rights and the discourse on the quotas, has as its central objective to analyze the debate on the implementation of university racial quotas in Brazil during the first decade of the 2000s. Therefore, it is intended to rescue the social theories they thought the Brazil from etnogênica training of its people. Taking as its starting point the construction of the racial democracy idea, taking into account the theoretical construct made in the late nineteenth century to the twentieth, it intends will understand the peculiarity of Brazilian race relations. Then we try to confront the different theories around the theme of racial quotas, from the oldest, developed in the early twentieth century, even the most current debates.
