Del urbanismo del proyecto urbano (1980-1992) al urbanismo ciudadano y de apropiación social (2011-2014). Reflexiones sobre las transformaciones urbanas del puerto y frente marítimo de Barcelona y el rol de la ciudadanía

Barcelona Urban transformation displays new forms of urban regeneration that no longer have to do with the discourse of urban project for the period 1980-1992 related to the model of Barcelona (Capel, 2007; Borja, 2009). Barcelona’s harbour and waterfront urban transformations are a reflection of the ongoing process of confrontations in a preferential location. Since its key valuation as urban public space during the Olympics, actually the port area has been the “object of desire” for a location and ownership competition The research and revision process thus reflect an aimed transversal overview -merging criteria’s from architecture, civil engineering, environment sciences, heritage preservations with social and economic considerations- leading to a critical analysis of the latest trends, projects and interventions. Consequently, the conclusions to be presented are, indeed, the first drafted programme to enhance boundings. ; Postprint (published version)
