O uso de materiais concretos para o ensino de produtos notáveis: ; relato de experiências e reflexões

This study aims to present the experience lived through the development of a workshop by the fellows of the Institutional Program Initiation Grant for Teaching - PIBID, the Degree in Mathematics from the Federal University of Tocantins, Araguaína campus. The workshop was aimed at students of the 8th grade of elementary school in the state School Center for Comprehensive Support To Child Jorge Humberto Camargo, aiming a good understanding of students in mathematics classes. Thus, the proposed workshop aimed to show a different approach to traditional and the topic addressed was Notable products, and more specifically, the concepts involved in the square of the sum of two terms, a product of the difference of two terms and product sum by difference. Students had difficulty understanding the teacher's explanation of the subject matter of algebraic form and face of these difficulties, the idea was to teach Notable Products geometrically using the area calculations, without deviating from the teacher's explanation. The workshop was easy to apply and the students themselves with the help of the teacher could build the materials used. Another positive aspect of the workshop was that the students could work together, helping each other and exchanging ideas and suggestions, and hence making the mathematics class more interesting and profitable. The workshop was attended by several challenges like riding a perfect square using only four figures, and they two squares of different sizes and two equal rectangles, then calculate the area of each figure and add them up, finding the same value obtained by algebraic form. ; O presente trabalho tem o intuito de apresentar a experiência vivenciada por meio do desenvolvimento de uma oficina pelos bolsistas do Programa Institucional de Bolsa de Iniciação à Docência - PIBID, do Curso de Licenciatura em Matemática da Universidade Federal do Tocantins, campus de Araguaína.
