Introduction: the rise of chronic diseases presents a public health challenge. In Nouvelle-Aquitaine, community pharmacists could play a role in therapeutic patient education (TPE) for chronic diseases due to their presence in local communities. Context: in a region grappling with healthcare access issues, community pharmacies could address the lack of TPE availability. Globally, pharmacist interventions have demonstrated success. In France, their involvement in TPE is limited but evolving. Objective: this study aims to comprehend barriers and motivations linked to pharmacist participation in TPE in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. Methodology: a qualitative inquiry was conducted, comprising interviews with five pharmacists. Results: despite their essential role, pharmacists' participation in TPE remains underexplored. Strengthening their engagement in this evolving field is crucial. Increasingly, pharmacists are oriented towards a patient-centered approach. Pharmacists play a pivotal role in recruiting patients for TPE due to their regular interactions. Pharmacists have already begun developing targeted educational initiatives within their pharmacies. Collaboration with other healthcare professionals is critical for TPE's success. Conclusion: pharmacists' expertise in TPE is invaluable. The study unveils a shared determination among pharmacists to engage and underscores the necessity of their active integration, particularly in rural areas, to enhance patient care. The future of the pharmacist's role in TPE might pivot towards the development of targeted educational actions, thereby reinforcing their positive impact on chronic disease management. ; Introduction : la croissance des maladies chroniques constitue un défi en santé publique.
