      This systematic review aims to explore the relationships that exist between LGBTQIA+ students and their teachers and peers in the higher education context. Furthermore, its main objective is to identify and showcase the impact of these interactions to young students, from academic performance to mental health and security, as well to examine on what extent university campuses constitute safe and inclusive places for LGBTQIA+ students. As a systematic review, the primary goal is to locate, analyze and synthesize existing research in order to understand further the complex topic of inclusion in higher education institutes, by assessing the existing relationships between LGBTQIA+ students and other individuals in their campuses. Then, a more in-depth analysis searching the impact, implications, barriers and facilitators of communication is conducted to dive more into the topic.
