The Hispanic-creole interpreters of Salinas Grandes (1786- 1810) ; Los intérpretes hispanocriollos de Salinas Grandes (1786-1810)

In this paper we focus on the figure of the Hispanic-creole interpreters of Salinas Grandes. These actors were often relegated to the background in official documentation since the relevance of their roles was largely ignored. In order to know their personal biographies as well as the activities they carried out on these journeys, we worked with manuscripts belonging to different documentary collections, such as travel diaries and their corresponding news reports. ; En este artículo nos centraremos en la figura de los intérpretes hispanocriollos que acudieron a las expediciones a Salinas Grandes a partir de 1786. Con frecuencia estas figuras fueron desplazadas a un segundo plano en la documentación oficial en la que se ignoró la relevancia de sus roles. Para conocer sus trayectorias personales como asimismo las actividades que llevaron adelante en el marco de las travesías destinadas al mencionado paraje trabajamos con manuscritos procedentes de diferentes fondos documentales, tales como diarios de viajes, oficios y sus correspondientes relaciones de novedades.
