The highest consumption of carbonated beverages occurs in the youth population, therefore, university students have been the focus of study due to the nutritional vulnerability of this population. The objective of this study was to analyze the situation of carbonated beverage consumption in first semester students of the Nutrition and Dietetics program of the Universidad del Sinú. For the collection of information, a sociodemographic characterization questionnaire was implemented and variables such as: gender, age, socioeconomic status, level of knowledge about soft drinks, attitude towards soft drink consumption, preferred soft drink brand and anthropometric characteristics (weight and height) were investigated, based on this last information the Body Mass Index (BMI) was determined, additionally the frequency of consumption was investigated and related to each of the previous factors.
