نبذة مختصرة : Brazilian society, in terms of its structure of social relations as we know it, began in colonial Brazil, where the strongest institution was slavery. In this sense, the formations and interactions of classes in Brazilian society were regimented by racism, which was revealed in the past, with laws and naturalization of racial discrimination practices, and currently maintaining great influence with the use of “masks” that they find to legitimize their performance in contemporary society. In this context, in recent years, irregular police actions have been observed in the country, mainly in peripheral communities, using brutality and physical and moral violence against subjects, violating human and fundamental rights, and endangering the lives of children and adolescents who live in these environments, especially black ones, thus recognizing the existence of structural racism. Considering that the country is democratic, and recognizing that social actors have the ability to influence changes and construction of policies capable of discussing the foundations of public and social life, this research proposal aims to reflect on how police brutality affects trust of black children in the democratic State through security and protection institutions.
