Att arbeta med sexualundervisning i religionskunskapsämnet ; To work with sex education in the subject of religious studies

This study explores the complexity of sexual education within the curriculum of religious studies. It examines various aspects such as student well-being, teacher perspectives on instruction, and parental attitudes toward the subject. The integration of sexual education into religious studies has advantages for students’ overall well-being but it also faces challenges due to the diversity of beliefs within religious frameworks. Teachers’ views on integration vary, and parental attitudes further complicate the picture. The study aims to understand the current state of sexual education by examining students’ perspectives and evaluating the resources available to teachers. In our search for references, we focused on gaining insights from both students affected by the current state of sexual education and teachers instructing the subject. Using databases such as Education Research Complete ERC, ERIC via EBSCO, SwePub and incorporating scientific reports and literature, we aimed to answer our questions. The findings indicate that teachers encounter challenges due to a lack of materials and knowledge, making it difficult for them to adapt and implement changes in sexual education within religious studies.
