نبذة مختصرة : Agricultural cooperatives play a key role in promoting the Brazilian agribusiness sector. Given this scenario and the challenges faced by these organizations, it becomes necessary to align efficiency in business management with adaptability to changes in order to balance the exploration and exploitation of actions and achieve a well-integrated supply chain. Hence, the objective of this paper is to analyze the relationship between the degree of vertical integration and ambidexterity (exploration and exploitation of actions) in agricultural cooperatives located in the Brazilian state of Goiás. This study examines the constructs of “vertical integration” and “ambidexterity,” and was conducted through the application of a questionnaire to target cooperatives and the use of data from the 2019 Census of Cooperative Activity in Goiás. The data were analyzed based on cluster analysis and non-parametric mean tests. The main contributions of this study lay on the observation of a growth in both the degree of vertical integration, which refers to the increased amount of activity within the agricultural cooperatives’ supply chain, and ambidexterity, as observed by the increased exploitation and exploration of actions by cooperatives. ; Las cooperativas agrícolas desempeñan un papel importante en la promoción del agronegocio brasileño.
