Climate change is a serious matter because it affects all of our lives. It is a crucial topic these days, so the best way to look at it is through how the story is being told. The narrative structure presents how the story is being told. This bachelor thesis aims to determine how narrative structure in climate change discourse is used in the articles in National Geographic Magazine. The bachelor thesis analyzes the articles from 2019 and 2020. In order to achieve the aim, these objectives were followed: 1. Introduce narrative structure 2. Identify the elements of transitivity in National Geographic Magazine articles 3. Establish frequency lists of transitivity processes 4. Describe how climate change is represented by the transitivity patterns 5. Identify other aspects of narrative structure. Overall, those articles carry 4515 processes, which includes 1247 verbalization processes or 27.62%, 1198 relational processes or 26.53%, 879 material processes or 19.46%, 750 happening processes or 16.61%, 201 mental processes 4.46%, 122 behavioral processes or 2.70%, and 118 existential processes or 2.62%. Each process was expressed by different verbs that identify those processes. Verbalization was most frequent with the verb ‘say’, relational with ...
