نبذة مختصرة : The main aim of this article is to draw attention to the phenomenon of slow food movement in Upper Silesia. Slow food is a movement, or even a way of life, based on a conscious, rational nutrition. Meals are prepared with local ingredients according to traditional recipes. These slow food’s rules are respected throughout the world, also in Upper Silesia but there slow food takes a particular form. Traditional, local food is very important for Silesians and Silesian cuisine is an important element of identity. Therefore, in Upper Silesia slow food is a way to preserve cultural identity.
