Prevenção do consumo de tabaco em adolescentes em meio escolar

O tabagismo é atualmente um problema desafiante para a Saúde Pública a nível mundial e em particular a nível europeu, cuja prevalência está em ascensão, maioritariamente entre o sexo feminino. O consumo de tabaco é a causa e fator de morte prematura mais evitável, com maior expressão em termos globais. Este Relatório de Estágio retrata o desenvolvimento e implementação de um projeto de intervenção comunitária para a Prevenção do Consumo de Tabaco em Adolescentes em Meio Escolar, cooperando com uma Unidade de Cuidados na Comunidade da Região de Lisboa e Vale do Tejo, seguindo a Metodologia do Planeamento em Saúde e ancorado à Teoria do Empowerment. Apurou-se a necessidade de modificar positivamente as crenças relacionadas com o tabagismo, e de aumentar conhecimentos quanto aos malefícios do tabagismo na sexualidade humana. A concretização deste projeto contribuiu para a capacitação dos alunos, quanto ao início/cessação do consumo de tabaco. ; Smoking is currently a challenging problem for Public Health worldwide particularly at European level, whose prevalence is on the rise, mostly among females. Tobacco consumption is the most preventable cause and factor of premature death with greater expression globally. This Internship Report portrays the development and implementation of a community intervention project for the Prevention of Tobacco Consumption in Adolescents in School Context, cooperating with a Community Care Unit in the Lisbon and Tagus Valley Region, following the Planning Methodology in Health, and supported to the Theory of Empowerment. There was a need to positively modify beliefs related to smoking and to increase knowledge about the harmful effects of smoking on human sexuality. The implementation of this project contributed to the empowerment of students regarding the initiation/cessation of tobacco consumption.
