From the collection of Evelyn Jurgens ; The Ashland Historic Photos Collection consists of photographs taken and sketches made between 1880 and today, with a focus on earlier periods. This digital archive was largely developed in cooperation with the Ashland Branch of the Jackson County Library Services and Ashland historian and photographer, Terry Skibby under LSTA funding in 2017. In the 1970s, Skibby printed images from negatives in the Ashland Public Library and other collections related to Ashland, Oregon and transcribed notes from photos and sleeves. Skibby updated and otherwise added to the descriptions for many of the photos at that time. Together, Skibby and the Ashland Public Library made the images available for personal, educational and non-commercial use. The images presented here were curated by Skibby from collections donated to the Ashland Public Library or loaned for digitization by Evelyn Jurgens, Lawrence Powell, Fred Engle, Ken Jones and others as well as images selected from Skibby's personal collection.
