      An interview with Mrs. Johnson regarding her family history, African-American life in Manatee County in the early 20th century. There is a lot of information about African-American schooling and major figures such as Dr. Mary Bethune-Cookman and Florine Abel. Mrs. Johnson's mother helped form the West Bradenton Women's Club in 1911 and her father was a education official in Manatee County and operated Rogers Funeral Home.
