Student: Ghada Mohammed Al-Fawzan Advisor: Dr. Hani Al-Khaldi Study Objectives: The study aims to finding out the effect of father’s absence or presence on the level of anxiety and forgiveness in the Saudi environment. Study Population: The study community consists of the children of social security beneficiaries affiliated to the Ministry of Social Affairs who suffer from father absence in adolescence phase (13.864 females), and High school students, who have their fathers around them (112.766 females). The study sample covered 140 social security beneficiaries, who suffer from father-absence, and 350 High school students, who are blessed with having their fathers around them. Research Methodology and Tools: The researcher has used the descriptive correlational method in the study as well as the causal-comparative method to find the differences between the two groups. Moreover, the following scales and methodologies have also been applied in this study: “Heartland Forgiveness Scale” written by Laura Yamhure Thompson in 2005, and was translated to Arabic by Dr. Alsaied Fahmed Ali in 2015, in addition to “The State-Trait Anxiety Inventory for Adults” written by Charles D. Spielberger, Richard L Gorsuch and Robert E. Lushene 1983, and was translated to Arabic by Abdulraqeeb Ahmed Albuhairi in 1984. Main Results: 1-Social security beneficiaries, who suffer from father-absence, had high levels of trait anxiety. On the other hand, High school students, who have their fathers around them, had low levels of trait and state anxiety. 2-Social security beneficiaries, who suffer from father-absence, had low levels of forgiveness.
