نبذة مختصرة : Mestrado em Sociologia Económica e das Organizações ; This dissertation is an approach to professional training and valorisation of human resources and their importance for trading companies and for the state, having in mind the ,present socio-economic situation. ft also aims at undertaking a specific study of inservice training for senior staff and of the Capeverdean entrepreneurial reality. The main concepts related to this problematic are also discussed here, namely education, continuous in-service training, qualification and the emergence of new competences that are required from human resources as well as the challenge that they represent for the teaching/learning processes and for the management models and organisation of work. Thus, after having studied two major study cases in Capeverdean companies, we analysed the practice of continuous in-service training as a means of development and valorisation of senior staff. We also sought to check other existing means of valorisation, as well as the present management conditions and organisation of work and their implications as far as valorisation is concemed. Besides the study of these two major study cases, a short analysis of the ' state of art' of continuous training and valorisation of human resources in Cape Verde was also made. ; A presente dissertação aborda o tema " formação profissional e valorização dos recursos humanos" e sua importância para as empresas e para o país face a actual conjuntura socioeconómica e tem como objecto de estudo específico a análise da formação profissional contínua, dos quadros superiores na realidade empresarial cabo-verdiana.
