Šajā bakalaura darbā tiek apskatīti un salīdzināti divi izcili kristīgie mistiķi - Jans van Reisbrūks (1293-1381, Beļģija) un Avilas Terēze (1515-1582, Spānija). Darba mērķis ir izpētīt, atspoguļot un salīdzināt Jana van Reisbrūka un Avilas Terēzes praktiskās dzīves izpratni un mistiskā ceļa pieredzi. Tas nozīmē, ka katrā mistiķī tiek pētītas divas lietas - praktiskās dzīves izpratne, kas tuvina Dievam, un mistiskā ceļa pieredze, kas rezultējas apzinātā vienotībā ar Dievu. Šīs divas izpratnes un pieredzes starp abiem mistiķiem tiek salīdzinātas. Salīdzinājums parāda, ka abiem mistiķiem ir ļoti līdzīga praktiskās dzīves izpratne un, ka mistiskā ceļa būtība ir analoģiska, kas ir pilnīga un nedalāma vienotības sasniegšana ar Dievu jeb Svēto Trīsvienību. ; The tittle of the Bachelor’s paper is -“The understanding and the experience of the practical and the mystical life of John of Ruysbroeck and Saint Teresa of Avila: comparison”. In this work are viewed and compared two great christian mystics - John of Ruysbroeck (1293-1381, Belgium) and Saint Teresa of Avila (1515-1582, Spain). The goal of this work is to research, reflect and compare the understanding of the practical life, and the experience of the mystical way of John of Ruysbroeck and Saint Teresa of Avila. It means that in each mystic two things are viewed - the understanding of the practical life which brings closer to God, and the experience of the mystical way which results in conscious union with God. These two understandings and experiences between both mystics are compared. Comparison shows that both mystics have very similar understanding of the practical life, and that the essence of the mystical way is the same, which is the attainment of complete and inseparable oneness with God or Holy Trinity.
