نبذة مختصرة : Students attending Youth and Adult Education (YAE) face obstacles when returning to the classroom, whether due to the difficulty of reconciling work hours with school commitments or the challenge of assimilating new concepts after a long period away from the school environment. In the face of these adversities, it is essential to rethink and adapt educational practices to make them attractive and challenging. In this context, the incorporation of gamification elements into didactic sequences was chosen to stimulate students' interest, especially in chemistry content, and to assess their influence on students' preferences and, consequently, contribute to improving learning. Thus, this research was conducted in a public school in the mesometropolitan region of Porto Alegre, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, during four meetings, between May and June 2022. A didactic sequence focused on the theme of necrochorume was introduced, addressed through a gamified activity based on the problem-based learning methodology. Spontaneous comments from participants, collected during the sessions, reflected a positive change in perception and engagement with the content. Such findings underline the importance of revisiting and innovating didactic methodologies in YAE, demonstrating that well-structured activities, when correctly aligned with pedagogical objectives, can be a powerful strategy to overcome the challenges faced in teaching chemistry.
