Det komplexa våldet : En kvalitativ studie om socialarbetares syn på mäns våld mot kvinnor i nära relation

The purpose of this study was to examine how social workers who work with domestic violence understands the man's violence, to analyse what impact it has on the social work practice. To perform the study a qualitative method was used that included interviews with nine professionals who work within social services with domestic violence. The gathered material was analyzed using the theory of street level bureaucracy and the Socio-ecological model. The result of the study shows that all respondents agree that there is no independent universal explanation to why men use violence against women. They deem that the violence needs to be understood from a combination of different perspectives which are given different amount of significance depending on the perpetrator's problem. All the perspectives implicate various challenges that the social workers must find strategies for to be able to confront in the right way.
