      This study reflects on how reading practices contribute to signify the experiences of women deprived of freedom in the space-time of the Piraquara Social Integration Center. The analysis, of a qualitative-interpretivist nature, considers social practices contextualized within the scope of social sciences. The theoretical-methodological approach is anchored in the dialogical conception of language, developed by the Bakhtin Circle (Bakhtin 2011, 2014, 2015; Volóchinov 2021, Amorim, 2004), for reading as an aesthetic experience, we mobilize the ideas of Jauss, 1994; Yunes, 1995; Iser, 1999 and Zilberman, 2001. The corpus of analysis consists of 4 (four) texts collected in reading workshops held in the prison unit and consider reading as an aesthetic experience. The results of the analysis reveal that reading, in environments of deprivation of freedom, not only promotes an ordering of the chaos in which readers live, but also constitutes an exercise of freedom, despite spatial restrictions. Intertextual relationships, dubious readers' intentions and otherness recover the interactive dimension of human action and promote the production of meaning in a permanent and decentralized process that provides the aesthetic experience and personal expression of research participants ; O presente estudo faz uma reflexão sobre como as práticas de leitura contribuem para ressignificar as experiências de mulheres em privação de liberdade no espaço-tempo do Centro de Integração Social de Piraquara. A análise, de caráter qualitativo-interpretativista, considera as práticas sociais contextualizadas no âmbito das ciências sociais.
