Secularization and critique of modern liberalism ; Secularización y crítica del liberalismo moderno

In the following article, the focus is mainly on the secularisation and critique of modernity that we observe in the work of Leo Strauss. Despite the fact that this philosopher talks about the anti-theological anger of modernists, he finally concedes that Neuzeit novelties are not absolute and also the necessity of noticing a certain continuity regarding Judeo-Christian tradition. One other peculiarity of Straussian interpretation is that he identifies modernity with only one of its trends, that of liberalism. In the article, we analyse the conservative and even reactionary nature of Straussian critique when directed towards modern liberalism. Furthermore, we analyse its differences and convergences with the biggest liberal of the century, Carl Schmitt. ; En el siguiente artículo nos centramos en la secularización y crítica de la Modernidad que encontramos en la obra de Leo Strauss. A pesar de que este filósofo nos habla de la cólera antiteológica de los modernos, termina admitiendo que las novedades del Neuzeit no son absolutas y que resulta necesario apreciar cierta continuidad con respecto a la tradición judeocristiana. Otra de las peculiaridades de la interpretación straussiana es que identifica modernidad con una sola de sus corrientes, el liberalismo. En el artículo analizamos el carácter conservador e incluso reaccionario de la crítica straussiana dirigida contra el liberalismo moderno, así como sus diferencias y convergencias con el gran antiliberal del siglo, Carl Schmitt.
