      SUMMARY The concept of parents‘ social emotional competences is used more and more often in today‘s society. It becomes the domain of scientific analysis not only in psychology but also in sociology, pedagogics, social work. It is usually considered that the standards of parents‘ social emotional competences are their social skills, abilities to achieve the objectives, experience, knowledge while bringing up children of pre-school age. A child‘s education and upbringing can help to discover our best internal features, but at the same time it can be a big challenge to our patience and ability to cope with disappointment and confusion. Sometimes, it can provoke our anger and violence. The object of the thesis – expression of social emotional competences of parents‘ bringing up pre-school children. The aim of the thesis - to analyse expression of social emotional competences of parents‘ bringing up pre-school children. Characteristics of the analysis – qualitative study – self-reflexion has been chosen. The study is dedicated to parents (who bring up pre-school children). The results of the analysis enabled to make these main conclusions: after analysis of expression of social emotional competences of parents‘ bringing up pre-school children,, five important social emotional competences can be distinguished: self-consciousness, responsible decision making, relationships, social awareness, self-control. Practical significance and possibilities of application of the final thesis – the results of the analysis will be applied to parents who bring up pre-school children while fostering parents‘ social emotional competences and will provide recommendations to education of parents‘ social emotional competences for pre-school children.
