نبذة مختصرة : Introduction: The objective of the present bibliography review manuscript was to assess the effectiveness of physical activity programs as prevention and treatment for typical musculoskeletal injuries (MI) that appear in computer users. Materials and Methods: A qualitative bibliographic review was performed employing Medline database. The descriptors used in the search were the follow combinations: i) 'physical exercise' and 'occupational health', ii) 'physical activity and occupational health', iii) 'musculoskeletal diseases' and 'computer workers' iv) 'musculoskeletal diseases' and 'office workers'. The search was limited to original and review manuscripts published between 1995 and 2008, but not languages limits were imposed. Results: The areas of greater prevalence of MI are low back, neck, shoulders, hands and wrists. Physical exercise could be an effective therapy in the MI treatment, but the evidences are limited when used with a prophylactic purpose. Discussion: Since there are manuscripts that confirm that physical exercise is a effective MI treatment, it can be prescribed as prophylactic factor.
