نبذة مختصرة : The history of Arab Christianity has its roots in the Muslim conquest of the Middle and the Near East. The Arab Christian theology that emerged is a result of both Greek and Syriac traditions but also as a response to Muslim theology. This situation came about from the challenges of the mingling of the cultures of the time and also responses to the misconceptions that arose. Further, it is also worth noting that this theology that emerged was not merely a by-product of something else, or even another language version of a local tradition, but it should be considered something completely new. This becomes evident in the theological dialogue with Islam, when we see that this Christian theology makes use of Islamic rhetoric, it is also seen in its creativity with respect to theological Arabic terms, and in the different forms in which it presents the faith and the way it defends it. ; Historia chrześcijaństwa arabskiego ma swoją genezę w muzułmańskiej konkwiście Bliskiego Wschodu. Teologia spisana po arabsku jest wypadkową dotychczasowych kościelnych tradycji obecnych na omawianym terenie, greckiej i syryjskiej, oraz teologii muzułmańskiej. Nie jest ona hybrydą, trzecią drogą, ale swoistą odpowiedzią na stawiane wyzwania i zagrożenia natury teologicznej. Teologia arabskich chrześcijan nie jest produktem wtórnym, czy inną wersją językową rodzimych tradycji. Jest ona nową jakością. Nowość ta osadza się na podejmowaniu zagadnień teologicznych w dialogu z islamem, z uwzględnieniem jego retoryki, kreatywnością w zakresie terminologii arabskojęzycznej oraz różnorodnością form obrony wiary i jej prezentacji.
