      We present our research that is inserted in the field of teacher education and aims to contribute specifically to the initial formation of the pedagogue. Our objective was to analyze the performance of pedagogy students in large-scale assessments, based on Enade's specific knowledge issues. This is a qualitative, documentary research, since we use the four reports of Enade, referring to the years 2005, 2008, 2011 and 2014, which are available on the website of the Instituto Nacional de Estudos e Pesquisas Educacionais Anísio Teixeira (Inep). From the total of 120 questions, we analyzed the multiple choice questions that were classified as difficult or very difficult for students of pedagogy, as well as all the discursive ones. The difficulties presented by the students were grouped according to the number of repetition, which gave rise to 18 categories. We concluded that most students did not perform as satisfactorily. However, we also conclude that Enade, by itself, is not sufficient enough to attest to the quality of the initial training, because it presents limitations, as well as other factors, such as the format of the test, time to completion, gaps during the process of university training and basic education, economic, psychological, family, and cognitive ability. ; Apresentamos nossa pesquisa que se insere no campo da formação docente e visa contribuir especificamente com a formação inicial do pedagogo. Nosso objetivo foi analisar o desempenho dos estudantes de pedagogia em avaliações em larga escala, tendo como base as questões de conhecimentos específicos do Enade. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa, de caráter documental, uma vez que utilizamos os quatro relatórios do Enade, referentes aos anos de 2005, 2008, 2011 e 2014, que estão disponíveis no site do Instituto Nacional de Estudos e Pesquisas Educacionais Anísio Teixeira (Inep).
