Sobrecarga em familiares cuidadores de crianças e adolescentes usuários de Centros de Atenção Psicossocial Infantojuvenil ; Overload on family caregivers of children and adolescents users of Psychosocial Care Center of Children and Adolescents.

Introduction: Family overload is the emotional, physical and economic burden to which the family members of people with mental disorders are subjected. Objective: To analyze the family caregivers overburden of children and adolescents using of Psychosocial Care Center of Children and Adolescents and to identify the factors associated with the overload. Methodology: Quantitative, transversal and analytical study conducted with 300 family members interviewed at two Psychosocial Care Center of Children and Adolescents in the municipalities of São Lourenço do Sul and Pelotas between March and May 2019. It was used to measure overload the family members of psychiatric patients (FBIS-BR). The project was approved by the ethics committee of the UFPEL Nursing School, under the sight nº 3.122.466. Results: The average of global objective overburden was 2,34 (0,77) with the major scores in subscale A - assistance in daily life. The global average of subjective overburden was 3,03(0,58) with the major scores in subscale E - worries with the patient. The prevalence of objective family overburden was 39,8% and the prevalence of subjective overload was 80,8%. In the objective dimension were found associations of family overload with the time spent living, feeling overload, minor psychiatric disorders, child diagnosis and symptom of aggression. The subjective overburden was associated only with the feeling of overload. Conclusion: The subjective overburden is more than double the objective.
