نبذة مختصرة : The age of the oral narrative is as old as the human being himself. Man can live only by communicating with other human beings. In the form of oral narrative, he transfers the inheritance from one generation to another generation.Along with oral narration, especially modern writers have made great use of it and added to the prestige of the story. Writers of world literature have worked a lot with the dynamics of the folk story and have used it since the modern era. Adaptation has made it more meaningful. In Urdu literature, the writer who has turned to oral literature the most is Intizar Hussain. His stories have been interpreted in many ways. In this article, we have selected his stories in which They have used folklore or oral narratives. I am of the opinion that they have renewed the norms of the past instead of dealing with modern moral issues.Comparing them with writers like Italo Calvino, Kafka and Thomas Mann, they have come to the conclusion that the creative journey of the above-mentioned fiction writers is from the present to the past, while Intizar Hussain not only travels from the present to the past but also takes refuge there. This is the reason why his stories should be analyzed under the criteria of folk literature analysis rather than the modern criteria of fiction.
