      The i ACE-V1 (Image rocessing Adaptive Computing Engine) is a portable, reconfigurable hardware platf orm, designedf or real time, in-field image processing applications. I ACE-V1 has ample memory and the capability of f ull or partial reconfiguration without the need of a host computer. This paper describes the architectureof the hardware board along with the sof ware design environment. We shall also discuss a real-time background elimination applicationf or video images implemented on i ACE-V1. 1
