Além de ser considerado um poeta importante em sua língua, Roubaud é também matemático e fez parte, na década de 60, do grupo experimental OuLiPo – Ouvroir de la Littérature Potentiel, algo como Oficina de Literatura Potencial, ao qual pertenciam matemáticos e escritores como Raymond Queneau, autor de Zazie no metrô (Cosac Naify, 2009), traduzido por Paulo Werneck. Roubaud teve outro livro de poemas traduzido no Brasil, Algo preto (Perspectiva, 2005), com tradução de Inês Oseki-Dépré. In addition to being considered an important poet in his language, Roubaud is also a mathematician and was part, in the 60s, the experimental group OuLiPo - Ouvroir de la Littérature Potentiel, something like Potential Literature Workshop, which belonged mathematicians and writers like Raymond Queneau, author of Zazie in the metro (COSAC Naify, 2009), translated by Paulo Werneck. Roubaud had another book of poems translated in Brazil, something black (Perspective, 2005), translated by Agnes Oseki-DEPRE.
