Potentiometric Studies of Complex Formation of Ce(III), Pr(III), Nd(III) and Dy(III) with o-Hydroxyacetophenoneoxime and its Substituted Derivatives

Department of Chemistry, Marathwada University, Aurangabad Manuscript received 23 May 1972; revised 13 September 1972; accepted 4 December 1972 The stability constants of Ce(III), Pr(III), Nd(III) and Dy(III) complexes of some substituted o-hydroxyacetophenone oxinies have been determined potentiometrically in water-dioxane 25%­-75% v/v at μ~ M NaClO 4 and 30 ± 1°. The validity of the linear relation log K = apk+ b and the Born relation E e 2 /2r (1-1/D) was examined for the rare earth complexes.
