Translation and validation in portuguese of the Leisure Constraints Scale (LCS) ; Traducción y validación en portugués de la Escala de Restricciones de Ocio (LCS) ; Tradução e validação para o português da Leisure Constraints Scale (LCS)

Objective: The aim of this study was to analyze the content validity and translate the Leisure Constraints Scale (LCS) into Brazilian Portuguese.Methodology: This is a cross-sectional research with a quantitative approach. Took place the processes of cross-cultural adaptation (translation and back-translation and technical revision), content validation (clarity of language, practical relevance and theoretical relevance), and reproducibility (test and retest), and, application of the finalized instrument. 180 workers participated in the analysis of reproducibility and 992 for internal consistency. In addition, there are eleven specialists in the area of leisure to participate in the validation of the instrument's content. Originality / relevance: the study about leisure restrictions, although consolidated abroad, in Brazil needs conceptual deepening and a valid instrument. In this sense, this proposal comes to fill this gap and contribute to the strengthening of research on leisure in Brazil.Main results: The authors attributed satisfactory values for content analysis in the items clarity and language (CVCt = 0.745), practical relevance (CVCt = 0.782) and theoretical relevance (X = 4.0; SD = 0.77). The reproducibility indices by intra-class correlation in test-retest were considered adequate in all domains of LCS (intrapersonal constraints = 0.780 - good, interpersonal constraints = 0.665 - regular, environmental constraints = 0.852 - great). In addition, Cronbach's Alpha presented a value of 0.621. Theoretical methodological contributions: The Brazilian version of the Leisure Constraints Scale is a valid instrument for application in adult samples, presenting adequate psychometric indicators of validity, reproducibility, and internal consistency. ; Objetivo: Analizar la validez de contenido y traducir para el portugués de Brasil la Leisure Constraints Scale (LCS).Metodología: Se trata de una investigación transversal con un enfoque cuantitativo.
